Will Smith Inu Price Increased by 832.95% Per Day
New Will Smith Inu meme coin was created after a famous Hollywood actor Will Smith went viral when he punched Chris Rock, who was hosting this year’s Oscars. Over the past 24 hours, the price of the token has increased by 832.95%. At the time of writing, WSI is trading at $0.000003067.
The background is as follows: on March 28, during the Oscars ceremony, this year’s host Chris Rock was due to announce the contenders in the Best Documentary category. During his speech he made a joke about the hairstyle of Will Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. He mentioned her “amazing, very short hair" (Jada lost her hair due to an autoimmune disease). The comedian compared her to the heroine of the movie "GI Jane" who has a similar hairstyle.
Smith then went up on the stage, hit Rock in the face, and uttered several obscene words directed at the host. After the incident, Rock called it “the most perfect night in the history of television”.
However, when Smith took to the stage moments later to receive the Best Actor award, he burst into tears and apologized to the Academy for his behavior. The actor noted that a man must protect his family, but being an actor implies the need to learn patience. Smith stated that he wanted to "bring good to everyone" and asked for forgiveness from the public and his colleagues.
As a result of the viral moment, the Will Smith Inu (WSI) coin was born. The coin, however, has nothing to do with Will Smith. Its creators call themselves “an experienced DeFi team.” According to them, a new meme coin was "inspired by the iconic moment of the Oscars awards ceremony."
Within hours, a new ERC-20 token was listed on CoinMarketCap, and its price had soared by 10,000% at one point. Over the past 24 hours, WSI’s trading volume reached $3,705,178. So far, WSI can be purchased on Uniswap decentralized exchange.
